Academic drawing

Academic drawing is the foundation of fine art, allowing artists to convey the shape, volume, and texture of objects using lines, strokes, tones, and light and shadow. It teaches artists to see the structure of an object, construct proportions, understand perspective, and grasp the laws of lighting. This type of drawing develops visual acuity, a sense of rhythm, observation skills, and spatial thinking. Academic drawing is an ancient discipline that has become the foundation for painting, sculpture, and architecture, and continues to be important in art education.

Illustration

An illustration is an image created to explain or artistically accompany a text. It can be a drawing, photograph, engraving, painting, or digital work. Illustrations help readers better understand the meaning of a work, create a mood, and visualize events or characters. An artist who creates such images is called an illustrator. Their task is to combine the content of the text with the expressive means of art, making reading more profound and emotional.

Painting

Painting is one of the most expressive and revered forms of visual art. With its help, artists create images and moods using paints applied to a solid surface—canvas, wood, plaster, or metal. The main expressive means of painting is color: it shapes space, conveys light, depth, and emotions. Sketching

Miniature

A miniature is a small-format work of fine art created with particular care and attention to detail. It combines painting, graphic, and sometimes sculptural techniques. Miniatures are made using watercolors, tempera, ink, oil, or mixed techniques on parchment, paper, wood, bone, or metal. This genre requires high precision and a developed sense of proportion. Historically, miniatures adorned manuscripts and relics, and today they are used for decorative and collectible works, preserving the sophistication of the craft.

Faces, portraits

A portrait is an image or description of a person or group of people who exist or have existed in reality. The main purpose of a portrait is to convey not only external resemblance, but also the inner character, mood, and individuality of a person. In the visual arts, it is embodied through painting, graphics, sculpture, engraving, photography, and video. In literature and criminology, a portrait serves as a description of a person's appearance, behavior, or psychological type, helping to recognize or understand them through an artistic image.

Iconography

Iconography is a branch of art history that deals with the description, systematization, and comparison of plots, themes, and characters in the visual arts. It examines how the same motifs were embodied in different eras and styles, regardless of technique and artistic direction. Simply put, iconography records the subject matter of works — what is depicted and why — without analyzing the methods and techniques of painting. It is the scientific basis for studying the symbolism, content, and evolution of artistic images.

Acrylic

Acrylic is a painting technique based on the use of paints created from an aqueous dispersion of acrylic polymer. They dry quickly, form a durable matte or glossy film, and allow you to work in layers, creating both dense coverage and light transparent transitions. Acrylic paints are versatile: they can be used on canvas, wood, paper, metal, and fabric. This technique combines the properties of watercolor and oil, while remaining convenient and predictable. Thanks to the brightness and durability of its colors, acrylic is popular with artists and designers.

Watercolor, gouache

Watercolor and gouache are painting techniques that straddle the line between painting and graphic art. Both use water as a solvent and rely on the transparency or opacity of the paint layer. Watercolor is light and airy, creating tone variations and soft transitions, while gouache, on the contrary, produces a matte, opaque surface. In both techniques, the white color of the paper becomes part of the composition, and light emanates from within the image. Lettering

Lettering, or calligraphy, is the art of drawing letters, in which each line is created consciously and decoratively. Interior paintings

The main goal of such works is to fit harmoniously into the space, emphasize the style of the interior, and create a mood. Three-dimensional paintings

Three-dimensional paintings are decorative works created using various materials to give the image relief and texture. They can be made from paper, wood, leather, fabric, putty, textured paste, beads, plaster, or a combination of elements. Thanks to the layers and plasticity of the materials, the painting acquires depth and tactility, transforming into an object that is somewhere between painting and sculpture. Such works decorate interiors, add expressiveness to the space, and become accents of modern artistic decor.

Epoxy resin, paintings, and decorations

Paintings and decorative elements made of epoxy resin are a modern art form that combines painting, design, and materials chemistry. Transparent or colored resin creates an effect of depth, shine, and volume, and also allows natural elements such as stones, sand, shells, and metal to be incorporated into the composition. When it hardens, it forms a durable glass-like surface that emphasizes the play of light. Such works look unusual and modern, transforming the interior into an art space where technology becomes part of the aesthetics.

Landscapes

Landscape is a genre of visual art in which the main subject of the image is nature in all its diversity: mountains, forests, fields, water, sky, and light. The artist can depict the pristine view or a landscape transformed by humans. This genre has been shaped over centuries, developing ways to convey space, light, and atmosphere. In landscape painting, composition and perspective, a sense of depth and the state of the air are important. Contemporary art

Contemporary art is a collection of artistic movements and practices that emerged in the second half of the 20th century and continue to develop today. It reflects the spirit of postmodernism, experimenting with materials, ideas, and forms. Contemporary art is characterized by conceptuality, a rejection of canons, a mixing of genres, and the use of technology. Here, the artist does not simply create an object, but expresses an idea, explores society and the viewer themselves. The main value is freedom of expression and the search for new meanings.
